Westwood, Ipswich School’s Year 9 – 12 boarding house, is a Victorian mansion set in wooded grounds, just a 5 minute walk from the main school site. The majority of our boarding students come from overseas but we an increasing number of UK weekly boarding students. All boarders benefit from a friendly, home-from-home experience combined with the best of British schooling.
In addition to Westwood, we have our Sixth Form Boarding House, also within minutes of the main school. This is a modern, newly refurbished house for Sixth Form students with ensuite facilities, providing an experience similar to a university hall of residence. If you would like to make an enquiry about applying for a place at Ipswich School, we ask prospective families, students or agents working on their behalf, to send us the following details for us to make an initial assessment. We can then confirm whether a formal application should be submitted after reviewing the following:
1) Two years’ school reports, with teacher comments if possible
2) Details of hobbies, interests, achievements
3) Comment regarding English language capabilities
Entry in Year 9, 10 or 12
For entry to Year 9, Year 10 or Year 12 , we require students to sit entrance tests in Maths, English and Non-verbal reasoning. If they perform well in the tests, they are invited to attend an interview, this can be undertaken online if required. We also welcome visits to the School and we would be delighted to welcome you if you plan to visit the UK.
