Girls' Hockey

We consider Ipswich School to be the number one school for hockey in the East region. We have a proud record of producing both girls’ teams that consistently perform at the highest level in regional and national competitions. We have also invested heavily in hockey facilities with three state-of-the-art pitches on our Rushmere site, due for completion Easter 2014.

Old Ipswichians have represented England and the school has produced many players who are playing in the national hockey league. Our pupils have also been selected to play for county, regional and national sides, whilst at school here, and have attended national excellence training programmes.

As well as producing players at the top level we also cater for those pupils who enjoy hockey on a games afternoon and thrive in teams appropriate to their ability. The fixture list is varied with mid-week and Saturday fixtures against local schools and those further afield.

Pupils have had the opportunity to tour and experience playing hockey abroad with tours to Barcelona (January 2014) and South Africa (Easter 2014), as well as more local tour experiences for the younger hockey players.
