Trips and visitors to the school

Visits out of school are an important part of school life at Ipswich Prep.  These are predominantly day visits and pupils in Years 4, 5 and 6 will also experience residential outdoor activities, including Bushcraft and outward bound activities.  Some examples of trips undertaken by various year groups include:  Christchurch Park, Hedingham Castle, Flatford Mill, Minsmere, Layer Marney Towers, Sainsbury Centre, Colchester Castle and many more.

Visitors are regularly invited into school to widen pupils’ horizons and to enrich the curriculum. These might be representatives of the local police or fire brigade, actors and theatrical groups, musicians, dancers and other educators.  Florence Nightingale also visits us every year.  Parents are encouraged to share their expertise and knowledge with our pupils.

Whether it is meeting big bugs and reptiles in the classroom, or learning to light a fire in the outdoor education programme, there is always a new experience on offer for our pupils.
