We currently operate accounts in the name of Ipswich School on twitter.com (including the School's main twitter account https://twitter.com/ipswichnews and several department-specific accounts such as https://twitter.com/IpswichDrama, https://twitter.com/ipswichenglish and https://twitter.com/IpswichMusic) and may in the future operate similar accounts on other social media sites such as facebook.com ("Social Media Sites"). Please note that content posted to Social Media Sites may be embedded in or otherwise displayed through the Website but your use of those Social Media Sites (and those sites' use of your personal information) remains subject to their terms and conditions of use.

We may from time to time make use of your information:

(a) for the purpose of celebrating pupils' achievements (including by publishing photographs or videos featuring pupils or their parents or guardians on the Website or on Social Media Sites);

(b) for our fundraising, marketing or promotional purposes (including by publishing photographs or videos featuring pupils or their parents or guardians on the Website or on Social Media Sites); and

(c) for communicating with you by announcements made on the Website or on Social Media Sites.

4. Communication with you

We may use your contact details to communicate with you for the purposes set out above. By submitting your personal information, you agree that we may also use your contact details to:

(a) send you email notifications that you have specifically requested; and

(b) send to you our newsletters and other communications relating to the business of Ipswich School which we think may be of interest to you by post or by email or similar technology, unless you have indicated that you would prefer not to receive these (i) by taking advantage of any opt-out facility in any email we send you; (ii) by means which may be provided on the Website; or (iii) by informing webmaster@ipswich.suffolk.sch.uk that you no longer wish to receive communications from us.

In using the Website, pupils agree that we may disclose their personal information to their parents or guardians.

Any individual wishing to access their personal information should put their request in writing to Mr P. Wranek, Data Protection Controller, Ipswich School, 25 Henley Road, Ipswich, Suffolk IP1 3SG. We will endeavour to respond to such written requests as soon as is reasonably practical and in any event, within the statutory time limits. Provision of such information will be subject to the supply of appropriate evidence of your identity, and we may charge an administration fee of up to £10.00 for providing this information. We may withhold such personal information to the extent permitted by law. Please be aware that certain data is exempt from the rights of access of a data subject under the Data Protection Act. This may include information which identifies other individuals, information which we reasonably believe is likely to cause damage or distress or information which is subject to legal professional privilege.
