Bowled over by women’s cricket success down under?
If you’ve been bowled over by the success of the England women’s cricket team in Australia this week in winning The Ashes, then why not sign up for a special free taster session for girls’ cricket.
The free session will take place on Saturday 8 February from 9.30am to 12.30pm at Ipswich School, and is open to any girls from Years 6 to 9 (aged 10 to 14).
Andrew Golding, Head of Cricket at Ipswich School, who has organised the event, said: “The free session is going to be a lot of fun and will give the girls the opportunity to learn skills including bowling, fielding and batting. We hope the success of the England women will inspire young girls from across East Anglia to join this great team sport!”
No experience is necessary to take part in the free taster day. The sessions will be led by experienced and qualified cricket coaches, including the current Suffolk girls coach and former Essex and Suffolk cricket players.
Girls who would like to take part should call Ipswich School on 01473 408300 to book a place, mentioning the girls’ cricket taster event. More details are also available on the school’s website: www.ipswich.suffolk.sch.uk/girlscricket
