Former pupils in search for old school friends
Former pupils from Ipswich School are looking for their old school friends to join them at a special lunch next month to celebrate 50 years since they left the school on Henley Road.
Pupils who left the school in 1965 have been invited to return for a reunion lunch and tour around the school on Saturday 6 June. However, the former pupils who are working with the Old Ipswichian Club to organise the event have lost touch with a number of their former school friends, and are hoping that a local appeal might help them get together in time for the lunch.
Michael Warner, one of the four former pupils, said: “It’s been a long time since we were at school and we are excited about the chance to come back, to see how things have changed at the school and renew old friendships. We really hope this appeal will reach some of our friends who we’ve lost touch with over the years, as it would be lovely to get together and reminisce about our schooldays.”
Mr Warner, along with his fellow former pupils John Rendle, Nigel Mayhew and John Jewhurst, would encourage anyone with links to Ipswich School to spread the message so that as many people as possible are able to join them for the lunch.
The event takes place between 10.30am and 2.30pm, including the tour and lunch. The event is free, but places are limited. Anyone who would like to attend should contact the Old Ipswichian Club at Ipswich School on 01473 298964 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
