Ipswich School pupils hit starry heights in GCSE exams
Over a quarter of this year’s GCSE students at Ipswich School gained all A* and A grades in their exams, with 100% of pupils achieving the standard of at least five A*-C grades including English and Maths. Over 65% of exams were graded A* or A this summer (nearly one third being at A* grade), with 91% of exams graded A* to B.
Headmaster Nicholas Weaver said: “We have seen fantastic results across the board and I am immensely proud of all our girls and boys for their all-round achievements. GCSEs are designed to test a broad range of subjects, and for pupils to do well over the whole breadth of demanding subjects can be challenging – I really would like to congratulate them all on a set of excellent results.”
He added: “We place an emphasis on high quality education as the foundation stone for exam success, and I think these results bear this out. I would like to thank all the staff and parents who have supported our pupils throughout their exam time, and no doubt they are as pleased as I am with the result.”
Of the 116 Year 11 pupils who took GCSE exams, a total of 31 pupils achieved all A* and A grades in their GCSEs, with seven pupils gaining at least ten A* grades each.
