£3200 boost for Suffolk Mind from Ipswich Prep School

Pupils and staff at Ipswich Prep School raised an impressive £3,210.66 for Suffolk Mind over two terms during the last school year.

They raised money through cake sales, retiring collections at Harvest Festivals and Christmas productions, as well as a Christmas hamper raffle.

Staff and pupils also took part in the charity’s Red January campaign, which aims to boost mental health through exercise to beat the post-festive slump.

Amanda Childs, Head of Ipswich Prep, said: “Good mental health and well-being is very important to us at Ipswich Prep, and we are delighted to have raised over £3,000 to support this campaign in Suffolk.”

The school is continuing its association with Suffolk Mind for another year, and already 36 members of Ipswich Prep staff, along with Lola the school dog, have signed up to the charity’s 100 mile challenge.

Between them, the staff are trying to cover the distance to Ipswich in the USA by 1 December, through various forms of physical activity. In just two weeks, the staff team have already completed over 1000 miles, raising £630 so far thanks to the generosity of the Ipswich School community.
