A Tale of Two Plays

On 21 and 22 March, the wonderful Middle School students performed two incredible plays: ‘Is This Good Enough?’ and ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’.

Is This Good Enough?’ was the play performed first each evening, by the wonderful Year 9s who were taking part in the National Theatre Connections project. The play features different ‘tribes’ of young people who have been summoned to a park by the mysterious Cyroe who sends them on a dangerous quest where they have to face their worst nightmares.

There were some brilliant actors from Year 9 and the performance included some amazing lighting and sound effects which really brought the story together! The play contained a variety of costumes which helped to show the different personalities of each character.

This amazing play was followed by the outstanding ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ which was performed by fabulous students from Years 10 and 11. The story follows the four characters of Hermia, Helena, Lysander and Demetrius as they figure out their love and meet the ‘mechanicals’ and of course the great king and queen of the fairies, Oberon and Titania, and their faithful servants. The variety of brilliant costumes and wonderful singing made it a breathtaking watch for the audience.

The two plays took place in Great School and together, they created an unforgettable night for both the actors and the audience!
