On Wednesday 14 June GCSE Music students took a trip down to the West End in London where the two classes saw the performance of Wicked.

We all had a lovely day filled with touring around Spitalfield Market, enjoying the performance of Wicked and seeing musicians that played in the orchestra. Paul Saunders who plays the Soprano Saxophone, Eb Clarinet, Bb Clarinet and Bass Clarinet in the musical, told us about where music can take us career wise and gave us all a good insight to what it is like to be a performer in the West End.

He spoke about the importance of increasing our multi-instrumental skills which would allow us to be involved in various musical performances and experiences. All of the students had a fabulous day out and
enjoyed applying our knowledge from our GCSE set piece ‘Defying Gravity’ to the actual performance.
