Black History Month at Ipswich School

This October is, of course, Black History Month. So our Library has stocked up on a variety of books that relate to the occasion. Ranging from non-fiction books like the Autobiography of Malcolm X to The Haunting of Tyrese Walker, a story of family and the mysterious Shadow Man.

Attention Year 7 and 8 Students

We’re excited to announce a Black History Month (BHM) scavenger hunt across the school for everyone in Years 7 and 8. If you find the correct answers you can earn a prize from School Office.

Share Your Story!

Miss Woodmansey is inviting students and parents to email a picture of themselves or their family to share a part of their Black history.

Classroom Discussions

All forms have been engaging in discussions about key questions related to Black history, racism, and reclaiming narratives. Miss Woodmansey said “Parents, we encourage you to ask your child about what they’ve discovered.”
