Creative Recycling

While the county’s household waste recycling centres have been closed during the Covid-19 lockdown, many of us may have seen our piles of recycling increasing at home.

Year 8 were set the challenge in their Design Technology classes to get creative with the objects left behind and perhaps headed for the rubbish bin. From old t-shirts made into bags, to tins made into handy plant pots and pen holders, here are some of their creations.

DT teacher Mr Steward said: “We were overwhelmed by the precise way that pupils completed the task and possibly concerned with the mess that might have been created at their homes as a result. The students seemed to relish the challenge of a more ‘hands-on’ creative task, allowing them to enjoy some time away from the keyboard.”
