Ipswich courier firm provides school with football sponsorship
Ipswich School’s first team footballers have a new kit sponsor, thanks to a generous donation by a local business and Ipswich School parent.
Tony and Ann-Marie Ciufo, of Rapid Dispatch – an Ipswich and Essex courier company – decided to support the team after many years of sponsoring local community teams, as a way of saying thanks to Ipswich School for the support their children had received there.
Mr Ciufo said: “I am very passionate about football and have been sponsoring teams in the local area since 1984. It’s really nice to be able to give back to the school and to be able to see more young people benefit from playing such a great sport!”
Nicholas Weaver, Ipswich School Headmaster, added: “We are very grateful to Rapid Dispatch and the Ciufo family for their generous sponsorship of the football team. Following our ‘sport for all’ ethos it is great that our footballers are supported in this way, and playing in such a smart strip will enhance their already strong team spirit.”
Currently 18 boys make up the Ipswich School first team football squad. They have played ten games this season so far, winning four, losing four and drawing two. Football is also popular with the school’s younger pupils; the U14 team were in the only Suffolk team to remain in the England Schools Football Association Cup until the most recent round.
Rapid Dispatch is based in Cliff Quay, Ipswich, with another site in Witham in Essex. The company is part of the APC Overnight network and has been operating in the local area for over 25 years. www.rapid-dispatch.com
