North Norfolk fieldwork trip for A Level geographers

In the last weekend of the Easter holidays, the Year 12 A Level geographers went on a trip to Sheringham, a small town in North Norfolk. This trip was an opportunity to witness the processes that have been discussed in class such as dune succession, and use practical methods in order to prove the theories we have spent the last six months of the course learning about.

The culinary highlights of the trip were the Tesco meal deals which were consumed in great quantities by everyone on the trip and the very popular fish and chip shop along the High Street. We did a mixture of physical and human geography methods in order to make a conclusion on our hypotheses.

This involved walking around Sheringham and collecting data as well as heading over to Burnham-on-Staithe to do transects along the dunes. These transects went 300m perpendicular to the sea and we had to continue along them no matter the terrain, which meant in some cases climbing in and around bushes as well as getting in a bog. Thanks to Will E and Harvey B for taking one for the team!

Altogether it was a fun 2 days thank you to all the staff who made it possible.
