Over 330 UCAS offers for Year 13

The hard work of Year 13 students and the Sixth Form team has paid off, with 338 UCAS offers currently held by students for September 2022.

As the deadline for UCAS applications to be sent was only last Wednesday, we are also pleased that 24 students have received all their decisions before the deadline for applications passed.

Now that applications have been sent, it’s time to wait for offers to come in, and for many people this is the worst part. Deputy Head of Sixth Form, Mr Calver, has some advice for all the Year 13s, and said: “Students should focus on their upcoming mocks and try not to focus on whether they have heard from a university. They all work on different timescales, some will have waited until deadline day to start making decisions, others are notoriously slow. Different departments within a university have different policies as to when they make offers.”

He added: “Do not be drawn into making early decisions and finalising first and second choice universities, due to them sending sweeteners such as guaranteed first choice accommodation. Wait until you have your mock results so you can make an informed decision.”

He also reminded students to keep an eye on their emails – for accommodation information once you have confirmed your choices, and for student finance applications to open, which is typically late February or early March. The deadline for making decisions on which offers to accept is 9 June, and the universities can take up to 19 May to make their decisions.
