The creative energy of our students shone brightly throughout the year, culminating in the spectacular Celebration Day Art Exhibition. We were delighted to welcome parents into school to view the art exhibition, with projects created by children in Reception up to Year 6.
Their hard work and dedication were evident in the numerous exhibitions their work graced, from Art East and The Hold at the beginning of the year to the whole school print exhibition, where their prints were proudly displayed alongside work from Senior School students.
Year 5 students collaborated with Artist in Residence Emma Robertson from EJaRt Creative, crafting nature-inspired ceramic garden sculptures. Year 6 delved into the fantastical, working with local chicken wire sculptor William to create unique and whimsical creations. Year 4’s exploration of natural cyanotypes alongside local artist Mikaela from Illuminate Studios added another layer of artistic discovery to the year. Year 3 had a wonderful year exploring the works of inspiring artists such as Miró, Delaunay, Hokusai and Hambling. Across all the year groups our pupils had the opportunity to experiment with a variety of media and materials such as fabric, soap and ceramics.
The Celebration Day Art Exhibition is a vibrant culmination of this artistic journey, showcasing the boundless imagination and curiosity with materials that define the Art Department at the Prep. Thank you to Miss Banham and her team for putting this together.
