We interviewed Rev Crompton-Battersby about the recent printmaking exhibition, which many pupils and parents went to see on Thursday 7 March.
Rev said ‘We wanted to have an exhibition that celebrated printmaking, and worked together with the Prep School to present work from a range of years all in one go.” The exhibition included work from Years 3, 5 and 6 from the Prep and Years 10, 12 and 13 at the Senior School. The Year 10 work included print using the inside of a milk carton, while there were beautiful screen prints onto fabric from Year 12 textiles students.
Helen Maxfield was a special guest artist and chose the winners. She works in lino and is inspired by her home in the Suffolk countryside, and the landscapes it contains. Prizes were awarded to Senior School pupils Rosie S, Hank Y and Emily C, with Sasha T receiving the top prize overall.
There was also a workshop for people to have a go at doing their own mini print as part of the exhibition. Special thanks go to Mrs Burroughs who put the exhibition up. Please remember to look out for more exhibitions to come.
