Road closure – Norwich Road / Chevallier Street / Valley Road junction

Please be aware that there is work taking place around the Norwich Road double mini roundabouts for several weeks, whilst Suffolk County Council upgrades pedestrian crossings and widens footways to allow shared cycle and pedestrian use.

Here is a summary of road closures:
Blenheim Road (at its junction with Norwich Road) – 2 February until 26 April 2015
Westwood Avenue (at its junction with Norwich Road) – 2 February until 22 February 2015
A1214 Valley Road (at its junction with Norwich Road, northbound direction only) – 16 February until 22 February 2015
Norwich Road (east of Chevallier Street, westbound direction only) – 23 February until 15 March 2015
Chevallier Street (between Waterloo Road and Norwich Road, northbound direction only) – 16 March until 31 March 2015
Entire junction (overnight works only) – 20 April until 26 April 2015

Also to be aware of, from 5-20 February 2015, a traffic management system will be introduced on Holly Road and Ivry Street in order to bring in the new utilities for the Music School. The work required to cross Ivry Street should take two to three days and then the trenching will go along the path on Ivry Street and finally up Holly Road before entering the School near the Great School rear entrance. Highways will put in a traffic control system during this work, but we would also ask that you use the road as considerately as possible, allowing extra time for your journey during these times.

The School buses will continue to access Ivry Street from Warrington road and we believe that, to ease congestion, parents should try to access from the Henley road end. Parking will still be available opposite the school on Ivry Street but the six parking spaces at the end of Holly Road will be closed for the duration, together with three spaces outside the Ivry Street Medical Practice.

Please take this work into consideration when driving to school, as there may be delays and you may want to leave extra time for your journey. For more information about the work on Norwich Road, visit:
