Summer athletics success

Darcy G and Lottie H in Year 11 had a busy summer, ending with the British Triathlon Championships in Sunderland. The swim was a cold 300m sea swim, next was the 3 km bike on a technical course. Finally, it was the 1.4 km run which was just out and back. Darcy and Lottie both performed well in the morning heats to qualify for the A final that afternoon. Out of 26 British elite A finalists, Darcy came a well deserved 2nd and Lottie a very creditable 16th.

Later in the summer Darcy competed in the British Biathle Championships (taking part in a run, swim and then another run) at Salford and won gold and the right to represent Great Britain in the World Championship in Madeira. Well done to you both.
