Year 2 visit to Ipswich fire station

We were given a fascinating talk by Blue Watch and learned very important safety tips for preventing fires in the home and how to escape safely in the event of a fire. The children were lucky enough to sit inside one of the fire engines and to have lots of fun with water hoses. The comments from the children below speak for themselves!

‘I loved spraying the water outside and aiming it at the tall tower. We were told how the fire-fighters get water from the ground’

‘The fire fighters told us that they have to use special cameras to see how hot the buildings are before going in to fight the fire’

‘The most interesting part of the morning was sitting in the shiny red fire engine. I saw all the hoses they use to put out fires’.

Thank you to Blue Watch for a very enjoyable morning.
