Today is National Offer day across the country and pupils and parents across Suffolk and Essex will find out if they secured a place at the state school of their choice.
There are many great state schools in Suffolk and Essex, and competition for places can be tough and inevitably some are going to miss out.
For those who are in this situation, it is not too late to consider a place at an independent school. At Ipswich School, one of the leading independent schools in Suffolk and East Anglia, we often get approached at this time of the year (sometimes even later) by parents seeking a Year 7 place for September. Prospective pupils will need to sit an entrance test for Ipswich School, but this can be readily arranged and we can make this as worry-free as possible.
For those thinking of an education at an independent school for the first time, we appreciate that this can be a big decision. With a little over 40% of our current Year 7 intake coming from state primary schools you will not be alone. With outstanding results at GCSE and A Level, great teachers, a supportive pastoral system and extensive co-curricular activities, it is a decision that can really help children fulfil their potential both inside and outside the classroom.
National Offer day for state primary schools is on 18 April 2017, and we do have places available for in Reception at Ipswich Prep School.
