Library resources for revision and wellbeing

The Library has decided to help the students with an exam themed reading list with books to help with revision technique and to revise from. Near the dining hall and Henley Road reception, there is a helpful display showing some of the books that the library staff recommend to maximise your learning and revision. There are also tips for revision and mindfulness to help your wellbeing during this stressful time of year. With the Year 11s and 13s starting their external exams this will be especially helpful, as well as for everyone who has their internal exams coming up. If you would like to borrow any of these books, you can visit the Library in person, email or reserve them using the online catalogue. The Library staff said: “We also mindful colouring resources available for you at lunchtimes in this exam period and would recommend plenty of fresh air, exercise and regular breaks to look after yourselves and be at your best.”

Feeling stressed? Here are some things to help

Have a go at these quick stress busting activities to connect back to yourself and help release unwanted thoughts or stress.

1 Stand outside, on your own, without a phone, for a few minutes and notice what you can hear. Take a few deep breaths and enjoy the peace.

2 Take a few minutes to move your body, starting by moving your facial muscles, neck and shoulders. We hold so much tension in these areas and it’s important to let it go.

3 Listen to some 174 Hz music on Youtube. It’s great to chill you out and help alleviate stress and unwanted thoughts.

4 Spend some time completing the stress workbook available to you on Google Classroom. It will really help process those unwanted thoughts and help you feel more prepared and optimistic about the exam process.
