Boys' Cricket

At Ipswich School we have a full programme of cricket, playing independent and state schools in East Anglia every weekend in the summer term. We have entered and showcase our talents in all age groups boys and girls in regional, county and national cup competitions.

We have top class facilities at the school with the main field and pavilion on the main school site, which is also used as the Suffolk County ground in the minor counties league. Off site we have four fields with six grass nets at Notcutts. We also have an indoor gallery with bowling machines and a sports hall with 5 indoor nets that give the kids the opportunity to develop and grow as cricketers.

Ipswich Cricket Academy started in January 2019 with ex international cricketer Nicky Boje in charged and with his highly skilled coaches help develop the boys and girls focusing on the following aspects:

1. Provide development programmes of individuals and small groups
2. Address skill development,fitness
3. Use latest technical developments via video/analysis

We also have age group clubs for boys and girls after school in the Michaelmas and Lent Terms where we develop the love for the game and introduce individuals to technical skills on batting, bowling and fielding.

In the summer term we see over 200 boys and over 100 girls take part in cricket training in the week and have between 10 to 12 fixtures over weekends.
