Boys' Cricket

At Ipswich School we have a full programme of cricket, playing independent and state schools in East Anglia. We have three teams for years 7 and 8, two teams for years 9 and 10 and senior First, Second and Third teams. The U14 and U15 teams won their Suffolk Cups last season.

We offer regular winter coaching sessions during the Michaelmas and Lent Terms, and the boys all practice at least once a week during the Summer term, and most have practice sessions twice a week. We have fully qualified coaches, and an indoor gallery as well as a cricket pavilion on the main school site, which is also used as the Suffolk County ground in the minor counties cricket league.

Our First team attend an end of season festival each year, involving teams from Brentwood and Leatherhead, and we were delighted when the Ipswich School team won this in 2013. Our senior cricketers have also had the opportunity to take part in tours to Grenada (2008) and Barbados (2011).

A number of boys play in their respective age group teams at county level, with two of our sixth formers also being members of the Essex Cricket Academy.
