Ganzoni art competition now open

This year’s Ganzoni art competition is now open to all Ipswich School pupils in Years 9 to 13.

The theme is ‘British Life’, which can be explored and portrayed in a number of versatile and creative ways.

Whether you like to paint, photograph, sketch or collage, use the half term to research artists who inspire you and fill you with productivity. British artists like David Hockney and Banksy provide a range of examples of British life in a range of media.

If you’re stuck for inspiration, look at the world around you! Staples of British life include phone boxes, buses and beaches. You could develop your theme by including current affairs or underlying messages. If you’re more of a textiles fan, try and incorporate fabrics and sewing techniques into your composition. However, participants must remember that nothing bigger than A3 will be accepted.

Entries will be judged in two sections: the Junior competition for Years 9 to 11 and the Senior competition for Years 12 and 13.

All entries must be handed into the Art Department by Friday 6th November. Your name, form and house must be written clearly on the back of the work.
