International Admissions
Ipswich School warmly welcomes pupils from around the world.
Our dedicated team provides guidance and support to international families throughout every step of the admissions process, ensuring a smooth transition into school life.
We understand the unique considerations of applying from abroad, including visas, travel arrangements, and settling into a new country. Our team is on hand to offer advice, answer questions, and provide detailed information about academic programmes, pastoral care, and boarding options.
Visits can be arranged virtually or in person where possible, allowing families to explore the school, meet staff, and gain a clear understanding of the Ipswich School experience. We also provide support to help pupils adapt socially, academically, and culturally, ensuring they feel welcome and confident in their new community.

Making an Enquiry
If you would like to enquire about applying for a place at Ipswich School, we ask prospective families, students, or agents acting on their behalf to provide the following information to allow an initial assessment:
- School reports from the past two years, including teacher comments if possible
- Details of hobbies, interests, and achievements
- Information regarding English language abilities
Once we have reviewed these details, we will confirm whether a formal application should be submitted.
Entry for Year 7, 8, 9, 10, or 12
Applicants for Year 7, 9, 10, or 12 are required to sit entrance tests in Maths, English, and Non-verbal Reasoning. Successful candidates are then invited to an interview, which can be conducted online if necessary. We also welcome families who plan to visit the UK to attend the school in person.
For further information about boarding, please email Mrs Laura Trainer, and details about fees are available here.
