Inspiring talk from Arti Shah

Uniqueness is often used as an empowering term, one which encourages standing out and being different. However, the road to being able to proudly stand out isn’t easy, and is one which Arti Shah will be detailing in her talk to
Lower School students on Thursday this week. Born 6 weeks premature and diagnosed at the age of 2 with a condition called pseudoachondroplasia, her life has been full of challenges which she has inspirationally fought, not letting them define her or limit her ambitions. She’s most well known for her work as a motioncapture performer, which essentially consists of acting in highly detailed mocap suits to capture movement. Computers then use CGI to change the appearance of the actor.

Arti has worked on a number of massive blockbusters such as Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, where she played a goblin, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Star Wars, where she played a gonk droid, proving that her condition does not prevent her from breaking down barriers and stereotypical attitudes.

We look forward to welcoming Arti to Ipswich School this week.
