National sport call-up for students

A group of Ipswich School students have been selected for their national sports teams or training camps over the last term, covering England, the Netherlands, Italy and Georgia.

Evie Y (Year 10) and Izzy J (Year 11) were both selected for the U16 England hockey team, while rugby player Giorgi T (Year 12) took part in the U18 Georgian training camp. Tom D from Year 13 was selected for a U18 England rugby match against France and, while fellow Sixth Formers Mart VDV, Dani M (both Year 13) and Siep W (Year 12) have all played or trained with their age group squads in the Netherlands.

Not forgetting Sixth Former Edoardo T from Year 12 competing in a national tournament for his home team of Italy.

Mr Edmondson, Director of Sport, said: “We are extremely proud of these young people who have dedicated a lot of time and effort to their training to be selected for national teams. We know that their experience with these squads will pay dividends for our teams back at school.”
