Year 2 enjoy The Great Fire of London Day

Year 2 ventured back in time to 2 September 1666 and found themselves on Pudding Lane – the location where the Great Fire of London started.

Whilst learning all about the Great Fire of London, the children explored what life might have looked like in 1666. They discovered there were some pretty unpleasant jobs that they didn’t think they would have liked, however being a Chandler, or perhaps an Apothecary was favourable!

It was fantastic fun watching Master Craig melting pewter to make a medallion at the Blacksmiths, then later we put our detective hats on to excavate the remains of burnt down houses from the fire, to discover who had lived there many years ago.

A fantastic day with lots of new facts learnt – well done to everyone for your superb role play.
