Work experience success

This summer, Year 11 pupils had an  opportunity to enrol for work experience for a week. It was an optional programme which ran  towards the end of term after their GCSEs, and was the first time this experience has run since  the pandemic.

The Year 11s learnt many skills coming up to  and throughout the week, including how to  write a CV, and they went for valuable work  experience in a field of their choice. There were  so many opportunities, including working with  architecture and solicitor firms, Ipswich Crown  Court, the Mercury Theatre, advertising and  marketing agencies, and veterinary surgeries.  The feedback was fantastic, with many students thoroughly enjoying their week of  work experience.

Some of the companies who very kindly  hosted placements for our students were KLH  Architects, Christchurch Solicitors, West Suffolk Council, BT, Ipswich Crown Court, Ingleton Wood, Jacksons Civil Engineering, Wilkin & Son,
Fairey Associates, Whybrow & Dodds, Orwell Housing, Christchurch Veterinary Referrals, Focus Integrated Marketing and Concertus.

We would like to say a big thank you to all the parents and OIs who supported our students this year by offering a work experience placement. If anyone might be able to offer their support in 2023 please email Mrs Hayes, careers@ipswich.school.
