If you are a UK taxpayer you can boost your donation by 25p of Gift Aid for every £1 you donate, whether that’s a one off or regular donation to Ipswich School. To register for Gift Aid you can either call the Development Office to provide an oral declaration, or you can print and return the form here.

Payroll Giving

Payroll Giving allows you to donate to Ipswich School before PAYE Tax is deducted which means that you don’t pay tax on your gift. If your employer offers a Payroll Giving Scheme, simply ask them to set up your regular donation to the School.

Company Giving

If you are in a position to make a donation through a company, one may find this the most advantageous way of supporting Ipswich School. The Company simply makes a donation and then claims tax relief when calculating profits for corporation tax. Donations can also be made over a period of time.

If someone is self-employed and wants to Gift Aid their donation it is handled in the same way as a donation from an individual.

Donating Shares

Recent changes in legislation make this one of the most attractive methods of maximising the benefits to the Foundation and minimising Capital Gains Tax liability to the donor. Not only are donated shares free of Capital Gains Tax but the market value can now be offset against the donor’s Income Tax liability.

For a higher rate tax payer whose Capital Gains Tax annual exemption has already been used up for the year, the incentives are enormous, particularly if the value of the donated shares is substantially higher than at acquisition.

Transfer of Assets

Donations of Capital Assets, including shares, can be made directly to Ipswich School without the donor incurring a liability for Capital Gains Tax or Inheritance Tax and no tax would be payable by Ipswich School if the value of the asset were subsequently realised.

Thank you

We would like to say a heartfelt thank you to all our donors – OIs, current and past parents, companies, charitable trusts and foundations –  who have kindly given to Ipswich School, including those that have chosen to remain anonymous. Every donation to Ipswich School, no matter its size,  makes a difference. See what we have achieved so far thanks to all your support.
