The Senior School received the top rating - excellent - in the recent Independent Schools Inspectorate Report. We were graded as excellent in all categories. The Senior School is in three sections: Lower School (Years 7 and 8), Middle School (Years 9-11) and Sixth Form.
Educating individuals, releasing potential
At Ipswich School our key aim is to encourage pupils to realise and fulfill their potential. By treating them as individuals, providing the best possible pastoral care and kindling a real interest in their studies, we hope that they will enjoy their education and achieve the best possible results.
We offer a broad curriculum that allows pupils to study a range of subjects, while also being as flexible as we can about the options available at GCSE and A Level. We are proud of our pupils' exam results, but we are just as proud of their achievements in music, sport and drama. Our hockey teams regularly make national finals; our drama productions are of the highest quality; our concerts showcase some of the best music making around. Our extensive range of co-curricular activities should appeal to everyone.
And our success was recognised in our most recent ISI Inspectorate Report in which we secured 'excellent' gradings (the top possible) in all categories.
Our pupils come from across Suffolk and north Essex and we are the oldest school in the county, and the only one mentioned in Shakespeare's works.
