Support Us

Whether large or small, all donations make a difference to the campaign and are hugely valued by the School. Our future success depends upon us all working together in a collective effort to give this generation access to a first class education and opportunities it provides.

Legacy Giving

Leaving a legacy to Ipswich School is a very personal way of providing opportunities for our pupils.

Leaving a legacy, no matter how large or small, will enable you to play a part in the future of Ipswich School and provides an opportunity to give support which may not have been possible in your lifetime.

If you wish to let us know of your intention to leave a legacy gift to Ipswich School you will become a much valued member of The Elizabethan Society, which recognises those who support the School in this way.

Membership is confidential and you will be invited to annual events and receive regular communications.

Other ways to donate

Payroll Giving

Payroll Giving allows you to donate to Ipswich School before PAYE Tax which means that you don’t pay tax on your gift. If your employer offers a Payroll Giving Scheme, simply ask them to set up your regular donation to the School.

Company Giving

If you are in a position to make a donation through a company, this may be the most advantageous way to donate. The Company simply makes a donation and then claims tax relief when calculating profits for corporation tax. Donations can also be made over a period of time.

If someone is self-employed and wants to Gift Aid their donation it is handled in the same way as a donation from an individual.

Donating Shares

Maximises the benefits to the School and minimises the Capital Gains Tax liability to the donor. Not only are donated shares free of Capital Gains Tax but the market value can now be offset against the donor’s Income Tax liability.

For a higher rate taxpayer whose Capital Gains Tax annual exemption has already been used up for the year, the incentives are enormous, particularly if the value of the donated shares is substantially higher than at acquisition.

Transfer of Assets

Donations of Capital Assets, including shares, can be made directly to Ipswich School without the donor incurring a liability for Capital Gains Tax or Inheritance Tax and no tax would be payable by Ipswich School if the value of the asset were subsequently realised.

If you are a UK taxpayer you can boost your donation by 25p of Gift Aid for every £1 you donate, whether that’s a one off or regular donation to Ipswich School. To register for Gift Aid you can print and return the form here.

Please let us know if you change your name or your home address, want to cancel your declaration, or if you no longer pay sufficient tax on your income and/or capital gains tax.

Thank you
