Learn in small groups with tutors for support

“The class sizes here are just right.  You get better debates with more people, but also here we get specific feedback and you do feel the teacher knows you as a person.”  Sixth Form Focus Group

You will work in small groups in the Sixth Form.

You will be in a mixed tutor group of Year 12 and Year 13 students in one of the school’s six Houses. Your tutor will register you twice a day, in the morning and afternoon, but he or she is also there to help support your learning, and to help you through the university application process. Your tutor is the person you can always turn to if you are worried about anything in school.

There are around 12 students in each tutor group. Academic lessons are taught in similar sized classes, and you can expect to have between 10 and 12 students in them.

All this means that tutors and teachers get to know you as an individual, so are best placed to help you and to shape their teaching to suit each student’s needs.

Wellbeing

Miss Woodmansey, our Wellbeing Coordinator has put together a list of wellbeing and mental health support links that may be able to help young people, parents and families with any concerns.
