Last Monday, Year 11 pupils completed their GCSE Geography coursework on the River Fynn. The day started with a hike along the riverbank, where we observed different stages of the river’s course. From the upper course to the lower course, the River Fynn offers a variety of features, including meanders, small waterfalls, and wide floodplains.
As we stopped at different points along the river, we took measurements of the river’s depth, velocity, and width, learning how these factors change from the upper to the lower course. By the end of the day, we had not only collected valuable data for our coursework but also gained a newfound appreciation for the natural beauty of the River Fynn.
