Ipswich School was honoured to welcome rugby legend and Motor Neurone Disease (MND) campaigner Kevin Sinfield on Monday as part of his latest fundraising challenge: seven ultra marathons, across seven regions, in seven days. The challenge aims to raise essential funds for leading MND charities, including the Motor Neurone Disease Association, Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association, My Name’5 Doddie Foundation, MND Scotland, Leeds Hospitals Charity and The Darby Rimmer MND Foundation.

Sinfield, who began this year’s challenge earlier this morning, arrived at Ipswich School in wintry conditions as the final stop of the day’s route from Bury St Edmunds to Ipswich.
He was greeted by hundreds of enthusiastic Prep School pupils lining Ivry Street, offering cheers, banners and messages of encouragement as he made his way through the school’s blue gates. Kevin then took a short rest and recovery break on the school grounds, where he gathered with pupils for a photo.

Several pupils were also given the opportunity to ask Kevin questions about his motivation, training and the importance of raising awareness for Motor Neurone Disease. As he continued his route, students gathered across the grounds to give him a heartfelt send-off.
Sinfield aims to raise £777,777 through this year’s challenge. Donations and further information about his campaign can be found at: https://donate.giveasyoulive.com/fundraising/kevin-sinfield-7-in-7-together-challenge
