About Ipswich Prep

Children learn best when they are happy – it is that simple. That is why our ethos is based around four core values, and of these, why care, is the most important. Contact us to find out more about the Prep School’s happy and vibrant atmosphere, where every child will achieve their full potential.

School tours

We are now booking virtual school tours with our Admissions Team. Just email prepadmissions@ipswich.school and we’ll be in touch to arrange your tour.

Preparatory School Entry

If you would like to apply for a place, please complete the  application form to formally register your child with us. Once we have received your form we will then contact you to progress your application.

Where places are available, we are able to accommodate mid-year entry.

Registration Procedure

All parents wishing to register their children for the Preparatory School (including the Nursery) use the same application form. A non-refundable registration fee of £50 is payable (or £25 where there is a sister or brother already in the school).

Once a child is offered a place in the Prep Nursery, parents will be asked to complete the acceptance form and pay an acceptance fee of £200. Upon payment of this fee, the place is formally reserved and the usual notice periods for withdrawal apply. The acceptance fee is refunded at the end of the last term a pupil is in the Nursery.

When a place is offered in the Prep (Reception – Year 6), parents will be asked to complete the acceptance form and pay an acceptance fee of £200. Upon payment of this fee, the place is formally reserved and the usual notice periods for withdrawal apply. The acceptance fee is payable only once and is refunded at the end of the last term a pupil is at Ipswich School (including the Senior School).

Moving on from the Prep School

Our children achieve their full potential – this may be academic accolades, musical performances, or representing the school in sport. They develop resilience and a portfolio of interests that enable them to thrive as individuals. Whilst most children progress to Ipswich School, we take great care to ensure that the next school suits each individual child.
