Prep School Life
Pupils at Ipswich Prep School are part of a close-knit and caring community. Each day is filled with a range of enjoyable and interesting activities, which make learning fun.
The Prep School enjoys state-of-the-art classrooms housed in a fantastic, building of considerable architectural merit. Located just across the road from the senior school, the Prep School has specialist classrooms packed full of wonderful resources. Dedicated, passionate teachers together with small class sizes enable pupils to be well supported in their learning.
Music and drama are central parts of Prep School life and every child gets the chance to learn an instrument and play in an orchestra; there are also plays and productions which give pupils the opportunity to take to the stage.
There are carefully designed outdoor play areas for pupils to use at lunch and break time, with a dedicated outdoor play space for pupils from Reception to Year 2. Within a very short work are all the facilities of the Senior School and Prep pupils use the indoor swimming pool and the four acre playing fields of the Senior School. They also make use of the amazing facilities at Ipswich School Sports Centre every week with its three hockey pitches and six netball courts.
Pupils at the Prep enjoy a wide range of activities outside the classroom and have a chance to do something different, such as learning how to ski. They also make use of a local wood in school grounds to learn bushcraft skills and there are also hugely popular outdoor activity programmes.
A marvellous school canteen fuels all these activities offering nourishing, locally-sourced and mouth-watering food every day
