Crash into Christmas brings musical cheer

Last week the Britten Faculty of Music put on a festive concert in Great School – Crash into Christmas.
During the evening, there were wonderful performances by a number of the senior ensembles including the Concert Orchestra, Jazz IS, Big Band, Wolsey Consort and many more delightful groups of musicians and singers.

Amongst the winter music on offer were Silent Night, Winter’s Tale and Prokofiev’s Troika – performed by the Symphony Orchestra – truely tuneful Christmassy songs! The favourite performance for many was Santa Baby performed by the Senior Brass Ensemble, while there was also a brilliant encore from the Big Band of Feliz Navidad, which brought all the evening’s performers back in front of the appreciative audience for another round of applause. Throughout history music has been a very significant part of Christmas and therefore should not be lost, which makes this celebration evening a fun and important event.

Overall the Crash into Christmas concert was a blast for everyone involved and was enjoyed by parents, siblings, teachers and especially the performers! Thank you to our fantastic music teachers who worked hard to make this fantastic night happen. Ho ho ho!
