Creative patterns

Using objects found at home or in the garden can be the building blocks for creative patterns – whatever your age.

Our Nursery pupils experimented with ‘loose parts play’ – using their imagination and creativity to make patterns with objects such as leaves and flowers. The same activity can be carried out with items such as buttons, bottle lids, hair bands and marbles.

In Year 9 art lessons, pupils were challenged to make ice sculptures and mandalas made from materials found around the garden. Mr Parkin, Director of Art commented: “I’ve been so excited to see what they have come up with; it has been creative, colourful and very sophisticated.”
