Inspired by insects

Year 8 have been working at home on an art project inspired by insects.

The start of the project was a drawing in biro or fineliner of an insect they could find around the house which could be magnified, looking at fine detail and tone, inspired by the wonderful microscope drawings of insects by Robert Hooke, the famous scientist.

They are now working at creating their own superbug, using a whole range of different insect features, which they will ultimately create as a sculpture using petals, twigs and leaves.
