Old Ipswichian speaks to MedSoc

Former Ipswich School student Josh Moussa, who is a first year medical student at UEA, spoke to our MedSoc last week about life as a medical student. Even though he has only been at UEA for a few months he spoke about the primary and secondary care placements he has already experienced.

He went through a typical week, which included online and in person lectures, anatomy and dissection classes, PBL (problem based learning) sessions and placements. He explained if you want to see patients early and enjoy dissections then UEA is a great place to study, but the PBL sessions were not as patient focused as he thought they would be and he was surprised at the number of online lectures.

Overall though he is loving his time so far and would recommend medicine as a career for those who enjoy applying what you learning to real life and people.
