Sherrington’s Summer Fayre success

Two weeks ago during Friday lunchtime, most of you probably attended the amazing Sherrington Summer Fayre, bustling with both banging bakes and beating the brave goalie. Despite the rain, the Sports Hall was packed with people and 12 splendid student-run stalls, including the coconut shy, splat the rat, the cake sale and many more, with the cake sale being the most successful.

All the stalls were raising much needed funds for Suffolk Mind, as well as keeping people smiling at lunchtime. After asking Mr Steward, Head of Sherrington, whether he thought the fair was a success, he enthusiastically replied: “It was a great success down from the tutors to the tutees!” He also added that his personal favourite activity was the Pin The Crown On The Donkey – a special Coronation edition of the children’s favourite game, in honour of the Coronation of King Charles III that was happening the next day. We went around the school and asked fellow students what their favourite stall was and very quickly it became clear that the bake sale, bubbling with sweet treats, was the collective favourite – yum!

Overall, the Sherrington Fayre raised around £270 for Suffolk Mind – well done everyone on a great event.
