South Suffolk Netball Qualifiers

Monday 10 and Tuesday 11 October saw our U14, U16 and U19 Netball squads compete in this qualifying competition at our fantastic facilities at ISSC Rushmere. Sunshine and cold temperatures meant a good warm up was essential as the teams went on to play five or six games against other schools in their age group for the afternoon from around South Suffolk.

Our U14s came second in the competition, narrowly losing to Woodbridge in their only loss of the day. Our U16s also came second in their age group – again a 1 goal loss against Woodbridge was their only loss of the day. Our U19s had some very tight games but completed the day unbeaten to finish top of the table and win the qualifiers. All three teams progress to the county finals in November where they will compete to qualify for the east region finals of the England Netball National Schools Competition.

We also entered our U19 2nd VII in the competition and this year saw them take notable wins against some of the 1st teams from around the area and hold others to within a few goals. This was a fantastic performance from our second team, showing they are up there with the best of the other schools from our area and we look forward to seeing them compete over the next year.

A massive well done to all three teams and to the coaching team who hosted an excellent two days of netball, along with thanks to the amazing staff at Rushmere who prepared our courts so well and looked after all the teams and visitors to Rushmere.
