STEM Challenge success

It was a joy to host our Year 5 STEM Challenge Day on Tuesday – welcoming pupils from 9 different schools for a day of exciting maths & science challenges.

In the morning we explored thermal insulation and building 3D shapes strong enough to hold weight. For the final challenge of the day, the pupils needed their engineering hats on in order to build a geodesic dome. Once the basic shape was built they then had the opportunity to get creative and develop the dome further into a more complex shape of their choosing.

Thank you to all of the pupils that took part and there was lots enthusiasm, initiative and resilience on display throughout the day. Congratulations to Old Buckenham Hall- winners of the Excellence Award and Broke Hall School who took home the Teamwork Award.
