Storm Eunice may have called off the first of our new Ipswich School Rugby 7s tournaments, but the sun had definitely got his hat on at Notcutts for the U14s and U15s event at the start of March.
Schools from around the country sent teams to compete for a cup and plate in each age group and a busy day of rugby was had by everyone. While Ipswich School coaches and parents kept an eye on the unfolding drama at Sixways
Stadium for the U15 boys’ national cup semi final, which was being live streamed, the school’s U14 boys had a day of resounding success. They beat Finborough School in a golden point decider 10-5 on their way to securing the 7’s Cup for the home side.
Congratulations to Brighton College who won the U15s Cup and to St Joseph’s College and Woodlands who took home the plate trophies in the U14s and U15s competitions respectively. A massive thank you to all the coaches, parents, players and other staff who made the day a fantastic success for Ipswich School Rugby 7s. We’ll be back next year for more!
