Winter Concert wows

The last Friday in November saw the welcome return of Ipswich School’s senior music ensembles to the Great School stage.

Kicking off with the Symphony Orchestra playing Brahms’ Hungarian Dance No. 5 and some Pixar movie favourite themes, the concert also featured the Concert Orchestra, and the Chamber Orchestra with a programme that included an oboe concerto performed by Anna W.

Smaller ensembles included the Advanced Saxophone Ensemble, Advanced Brass Ensemble and Jazz IS, plus vocal groups the Show Choir and Wolsey Consort. The evening finished in rousing style with the Big Band, including some outstanding vocals from Misha B.

Well done to all the student performers and to the Britten Faculty of Music staff who supported them.
