Part time, permanent, 0.5 FTE, from September 2025

We are seeking to appoint a subject specialist, with a full, secondary school teaching qualification to join the highly successful Drama Department at Ipswich School. The role involves the delivery of stimulating and challenging lessons to pupils ranging from Year 7 to Year 13, as well as full involvement in all co-curricular areas of the subject. We anticipate the role to be a 3 day per week commitment during term time which will include some after school/evenings during production time. There are also very occasional holiday/weekend commitments.

Ipswich School is ambitious about and supportive of Drama and the department benefits from excellent facilities and able, motivated pupils. Ipswich School was rated as ‘Excellent’ in every category in its latest ISI Inspection.

There is currently generous fee remission of fees for children (aged 5 and above) of teaching staff, providing there are vacancies and the children fulfil the usual entry requirements. Free lunch is provided in the School Dining Hall during term time when the kitchen is in operation, and staff are able to use the School’s swimming pool and fitness gym free of charge (in compliance with appropriate rules and regulations).
