Student success

National biathlon champion

Darcy G, Year 11, travelled to Redditch to take part in the National School Biathlon Championships. The event consisted of a 1600m run and a 200m swim. She posted impressive times of 5 minutes 19 seconds for the run and 2 mins 13 seconds for the swim to win the competition. Even more impressive was that this was a repeat of her result last year. Well done, Darcy!

County swim championships

Congratulations to all the Ipswich School swimmers who took part in the Suffolk swim championships in March. Those who swim for Team Ipswich were part of the side which won the overall county title for their efforts in a number of different events. Matilda B from Year 12 had an incredible championship event and was overall top swimmer across the board, having recorded the fastest time in every event she swam in. Other Ipswich School swimmers who competed include Sophie P and Gigi G from Year 11, Darcy G and Lottie H from Year 10, Jamie P, Rosie R, Jemima L, Amelia L and Ed P from Year 9 and Erin W and Grace M from Year 8.

More judo medals

At the end of Lent term, Isabella W from Year 7 won a bronze medal in judo at the British Schools Championships in Sheffield and a silver at the London Open. She is pictured here with her matside coach Paul Cooledge who runs the after school judo club in the Prep School.
