International hockey star to coach on holiday hockey camp

Former Team GB and England Hockey goalkeeper George Pinner will be returning to his old school in the Easter holidays to become a guest coach on one of the Hockey Performance Camps running to provide specialist coaching for young hockey players.

Poppy Martin, Head of Hockey at Ipswich School said: “We are delighted to be welcoming George to join our coaching team on Tuesday 19 April. We know his experience and enthusiasm for hockey will be an inspiration to the players, and we are looking forward to learning from his experience playing the international game.”

The camps will run from Tuesday 19 April to Thursday 21 April in the afternoons at Ipswich School Sports Centre in Rushmere, and are open to young people in Year 4 to Year 10 from any school or hockey club.

The hockey camps run from 2 to 5pm, and cost £35 per session, or £95 if players book on all three days. Bookings can be made online: www.ipswichschoolsportscentre.co.uk/bookings

Other coaches on the Camps include Poppy Martin, who is also an England Hockey DiSE and East PC Coach, as well as being Head of Hockey at Ipswich School; Adnan Zakir – Ex Pakistan International Player (169 caps) and Premier League Coach for Holcombe HC; and Maddy Newlyn – Premier League Player and European Indoor player for Buckingham HC.
