Lower School enjoy meeting Arti Shah

During the morning of Thursday 11 March, Lower School had a special visitor come in to speak to pupils in the school chapel, Arti Shah. She talked about her disability and how she coped with it – you could say she is like an
influencer, as she talks to groups like us about her life. She has a form of dwarfism which meant that people started using her for roles that portrayed her height so she started rejecting the auditions and roles so she was not stereotyped.

Arti talked about some of the movies she has been in, that are probably quite close to the heart for many of us. When she mentioned playing Rocket Raccoon in Guardians of the Galaxy that caused quite a stir in the room. As
well as that she played a goblin in Harry Potter. Could you imagine being perfected to resemble a goblin for four hours? She has rolled with many famous actors, directors and celebrities and she explained how some of them surprised her with how down to earth they could be. We are very grateful for hearing her speak – Arti Shah is a real inspiration!
